Rainfall-Induced Hydraulic Properties for Unsaturated Soil in Klang Valley

چکیده
Abstract Klang Valley area is one of the most landslide-prone areas in Malaysia, especially at Hulu Kelang, Kuala Lumpur. The has been frequently hit by landslide since 1990s. Soil instability agreed researchers occurred due to high precipitation and long duration rainfall which cause property damage leading injury fatality. Slope failure also triggered antecedent leads infiltration rainwater into soil. Therefore, study vital relates soil – water interaction behaviour for varies intensities unsaturated objective this paper determine compare characteristic curve (SWCC) hydraulic parameters area. Samples were collected properties Kelang area, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Pertahanan Nasional (UPNM) campuses. Analysis of Rainfall-Induced Landslide on Unsaturated Soil Slopes
This paper investigates rainfall-induced landslides on partially saturated soil slopes using the 2011 Umyeonsan landslides at the center of Seoul, Korea. An integrated analysis of rainfall-induced landslide was carried out through laboratory tests, field tests, and numerical analysis. The results of comprehensive investigations in the Umyeonsan region demonstrate that landslide activity is clos...
متن کاملUnsaturated hydraulic conductivity function based on a soil fragmentation process
We present a new two-parameter expression for relative hydraulic conductivity (RHC) of partially saturated soils. It is based on the premise of Assouline et al. [1998] that soil structures evolve from a uniform random fragmentation process. This assumption allows us to derive hydraulic properties of soils (water retention curves and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity) from primary properties, s...

متن کاملSensitivity Analysis of Hydraulic Parameters in the Simulation of Unsaturated Soil Water Dynamics
Soil water content is one of the most important parameters for estimating irrigation frequency and providing the plant’s water requirement. Since measurement of soil water content is both expensive and time consuming, water movement models are used to estimate these values. In this study, LEACHW model was used to estimate soil water content for two “dry” (20-29 Aug) and “wet” (1-6 Jul) periods ...
